The focus of the 2025 Berg River K1 Canoe Series is to encourage participation in the Western Cape Berg River Races.
Just completing the 2025 Berg River Marathon provides an opportunity for paddlers from outside the Western Cape to participate in the series and be part of the lucky draw for the Salt Kayaks K1 and any other prizes which may be added before the prizegiving.
The pre-Berg series events also encourage local Western Cape participants to double their chances by entering and completing more races.
The following are the rules for the lucky draw.
Due to the cancellation of the Paarl -> Skooltjie Race, the rules have been amended and the following are the new rules for the 2025 Berg River Series.
Each paddler will get one entry into the lucky draw for completion of every three race days of the 2025 Berg River K1 Canoe Series races plus a bonus entry for completing the Berg River Canoe Marathon.
Each stage of the Berg River Marathon will count as one race day.
This means paddlers can now earn three entries to the lucky draw (complete three pre-Berg races = 1 entry; Complete Berg = 2 entries (1 entry for finishing three days PLUS bonus entry for completing the Berg).
To qualify for a prize, entrants must follow or subscribe to at least one of the sponsors’ social media pages (as detailed below).

Examples of lucky draw entries:
Paddler A finishes three out of the four pre-Berg races = 3 days completed = 1 lucky draw entry
Paddler B finishes two pre-Berg races and one stage of the Berg = 3 days completed = 1 lucky draw entry
Paddler C finishes all four days of the Berg = 4 days completed = 2 lucky draw entries (1 plus 1 bonus)
Paddler D finishes four pre-Berg races plus all four days of the Berg = 8 days completed = 3 lucky draw entries (2 + 1 bonus)
Paddler E completes three pre-Berg races plus two days of the Berg = 5 days completed = 1 lucky draw entry
Winners will be announced at Berg 2025 Prizegiving
Winners must be present at the Berg Prizegiving to win
If winner is not present, prize will be redrawn
