THE DOT VAN RIET AWARD

Seconders are a critical element of the Berg, and they always have been.

To recognise the part that seconders play in keeping their paddlers going, every year we present an award in the name of Dot Van Riet, herself an icon of this race from years gone by.

Paddlers will need to nominate their special seconder for the award by posting on social media with the hashtag #DotVanRiet and tagging the Berg River Canoe Marathon.

The best Berg SuperSeconder will win a hamper of goodies from Khayalitsha Cookies and a magnum of wine from Org du Rac.
